Mui Ne, Vietnam

I've seen more sunrises and sunsets in these 4 months of traveling than in the whole rest of my life so far. Why do we do this so rarely in our daily lives? Today I woke up at 4am to see the sunrise at Mui Ne White Sand Dunes. The sunrise was a bit disappointing but the experience was still fun. Back at the hostel I took a long and well deserved nap before my 5h bus to Dalat.

Mui Ne, Vietnam

For some reason, most people travel Vietnam north to south instead of south to north, which is what I'm doing. This has come very useful, because it means all the travelers I meet along the way can share their experiences and advice with me. Today I arrived to Mui Ne, a small town by the sea, most known for its chill vibes and sand dunes.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

I have a love/hate relationship with big cities. I love the buzzing streets, the bright lights, and the vast amount of options for food and fun. However I quickly get bored of the traffic, noise, and crowds, and soon start missing the calm of small towns.

An Binh, Vietnam

So far I've been incredible happy with all the homestay experiences I've had in this trip. Being in a family environment feels very different from the usual hostel vibe. Yesterday I had the opportunity to go fishing with my host and then I helped cook dinner, rolling spring rolls and frying the fish. After lunch I changed scenery drastically, from small village to big modern city.

An Binh, Vietnam

One of the must-sees of the Mekong Delta are the floating markets. Most of the goods in the area are transported by ship, thus most of the trade is done at the river. In Cai Rang Floating Market you could see both small and big businesses buyiny all sorts of fruit, vegetables, and seafood. Best time to visit is very early in the morning, so itwas quite a long day for me. Then I moved to my next destination: An Binh, a small village north of Vinh Long.

Can Tho, Vietnam

Can Tho is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta, and it's buzzing with businesses. It seems like every single house in this city is either a restaurant, or a shop of some sort. I took advantage of this and ate everything I laid eyes on while exploring this city.

Another day spent mostly in transit. I traveled over 200kms by a mix and match of taxi, ferry, and bus, finally making it to Can Tho, the economical center of the Mekong Delta. It's time to explore mainland Vietnam!
