Street food markets are the soul of Asian food culture. A trip to southeast Asia is not complete without a visit to a local food market. Try a bit of everything: exotic fruits, spicy dishes, local desserts, etc. A strong stomach is recommended.

Chaing Mai is full of Buddhist temples or "Wats". Each of them has something that makes them unique, but "Wat Phra That Doi Sethup" might be the prettiest I've ever visited. Located at the top of a mountain, it's best visited at night, when the lighting makes the gold shine even more. Plus, you have a beautiful view of the city.

Back in Thailand! Now I'll be doing the north, that I skipped on my previous visit. I'll also be spending some days with 2 old friends. After constantly meeting so many new people, it feels awesome to have familiar faces to talk to.

I've kept traveling south since I started my trip in Bangkok, going through Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Now it's time to explore the north. My flight to Chiang Mai left late in the evening, with a layover in Bangkok.

I spent the day in Nusa Penida, hitting some of the highlights of the island. Pro tip: If you have a group of 4 or 5, consider getting a car + private driver instead of an organized tour. Most of the times it'll be cheaper and gives you the flexibility of picking what you want to see.

Lembongan still has that authentic Indonesian island vibe. It isn't flooded with tourists, at least in comparison to Bali. Today we rented bicycles 🚲 and rode them around Lembongan and Ceningan (a small neighbor island connected by a bridge).

I said goodbye to Gili T and hopped to my next Indonesian island: Nusa Lembongan. Smaller and less crowded than Nusa Penida, Lembongan has lots to offer. I'll be exploring this island for the next couple of days.
