If I got the time, I like doing free walking tours wherever I am. I find it's a great way to get familiar with the city, learn about its history, and why not, meet some other travelers. Don't get me wrong, some of them have been really bad, but the majority have been a good experience.

Piran will make you forget you're in Slovenia. The narrow streets and colorful windows will make you feel somewhere in Italy. That's because Piran, same as lots of cities in the Istrian coast were under the Venetian Republic ruling for hundreds of years. The view from the old city walls was truly astonishing.
